Introducing your new favorite monthly series, inspired by your favorite guilty Friday night activity. Think you've got literary chops? You've got three minutes to prove it by reading a passage from a book that will surprise and delight the crowd. Our theme for September is Banned Books, and we’ll be joined by guest of honor MK Reed, whose new graphic novel Americus follows student Neal Barton as he fights to save his favorite series from being banned at his library. Come with a passage from your favorite banned book! Sign-up starts at 6:30; can’t hurt to have a back-up passage just in case. BYOB.
Need some inspiration? The ALA is a great resource, and has a list of Banned/Challenged Classics, you can check out a list of authors challenged by year, and more. Facebook RSVP here.
