Professional funny man Patton Oswalt is coming to Greenpoint! On Saturday, January 8th at 5 p.m., Oswalt will present and sign his new book, Zombie Spaceship Wasteland.
Please note: due to space constraints, this event will be held at The Warsaw, not the bookstore. Event tickets are non-refundable, and only a limited number of tickets will be sold. Each ticket includes one (1) copy of Zombie Spaceship Wasteland.
Widely known for his roles in the films Big Fan and Ratatouille (he was the voice of Remy!), as well as the television hits The King of Queens and United States of Tara, Oswalt, a Comedy Central staple, has been amusing audiences with his stand-up for decades. Now he offers a fascinating look into his most unusual, and loveable, mindscape with an uproariously funny memoir.
There
are the teen summers spent working in a run-down movie Cineplex, a passionate
defense of Dungeons & Dragons, and an explanation of what really occurs at
celebrity “gifting suites.” There’s a graphic vampire tale
and some special Chamomile Kitten™ greeting cards. And then
there’s the book’s centerpiece, which posits that before all young
creative minds have anything to write about, the will home in on one of three
story lines: zombies, spaceships, or wastelands. Oswalt chose wastelands, and
ever since he has been mining our society’s wasteland for perversion and
excess, pop culture and fatty foods, indie rock and single-malt scotch.
